Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga got his start in the fashion industry by accident when at the tender age of thirteen, he complemented the Marquise of Casa Torres. He prosuaded her with the idea of designing a dress for her which turned out to be a hit, exposing himself to the popular design house. Interesting enough, at the young age of 16, he opened the first design house in San Sebastian under his own name. The Duchess of Windsor, Princess Grace of Monaco, the Queen of Belgium, the Queen of Spain, all regularly wore Balenciaga's creations. He opened designer salons in San Sebastian, Barcelona, and Spain, where women went to purchase the finest couture. The most popular bag in recient years has been the Balenciaga Motorcyle Bag.
